Crumble the specially prepared tobacco and fill the terracotta jar. With your finger, apply moderate pressure to the shisha to compact it lightly. The pressure applied must be light so that air can circulate freely to avoid hindering combustion. |

To avoid contact between the shisha and the charcoal, cover the shisha with some aluminium foil and close it off around the circumference of the terracotta jar. Using a toothpick, perforate the aluminium foil about twenty times. The little holes allow the air to circulate stopping small embers or ash coming into contact with the shisha. |

Using the tongs which are supplied with the water pipe, take a piece of self-igniting charcoal. Use a lighter to light the charcoal outside the house or near an open window. The special charcoal has a substance which facilitates combustion which is why it emits tiny sparks. It will also produce smoke so at this stage combustion should be speeded up by waving your arms about until smoke is no longer produced and the charcoal has become a glowing ember which can be placed on the aluminium foil. You may then cap the top of the water pipe with the wind cover. |

Take several puffs - without inhaling into the lungs - you will see the smoke filling the base. Wait until a substantial amount of white smoke is obtained to breathe into the lungs. Share this moment of pure pleasure with your friends. Enjoy your water pipe! |
